I’m Emanuele Pizzolorusso, an Helsinki based designer who loves turning complex problems into intuitive, engaging solutions.

For over a decade, running my own design studio has been at the core of my professional life. I’ve worked on many projects across different industries, often teaming up with people from diverse backgrounds and skills. Some of these projects have received international recognition and awards.

I’ve taken projects from early research and idea development all the way to physical product, guiding every step along the way. My approach is T-shaped: I balance big-picture strategic thinking with practical, hands-on prototyping, testing, and execution.

As a person, I’m curious and enjoy solving problems by finding smart, fun solutions. I’m sociable and empathetic, always trying to understand the end users so I can create work that truly fits their needs.

My Experience as Industrial Designer

  • Great ideas start with great questions. I collaborate with teams and users to explore new possibilities, using tools like sketches, moodboards, market research, brainstorming, and generative AI to bring innovative products to life.

  • This is the core of my experience: turning ideas into real products. I use 3D modeling as the main tool and physical prototypes to refine forms, test ideas, and develop production-ready solutions. By working closely with engineers and manufacturers, I bring together goals, constraints, and ideas to create forms that are both functional and appealing.

  • Understanding and empathizing with the people who use a product is key to making it successful. Even a small group of users, with honest and open communication, can help guide a project in the right direction and create a lot of value.

  • A product can express its personality and identity within a catalogue and brand. Over the years, I have focused on ensuring consistency in design choices, including color, visual language, functions, and price hierarchy. I have also contributed to aspects of brand and visual identity beyond industrial design, such as creating graphics and logos, co-creating packaging, and helping photographers.
